Ángel Rodríguez returns to the CEV Moto2 with Halcourier MS

Today it was officially confirmed what we had already been assuming since we learned of the split between rider Ángel Rodríguez and SAG in the Moto2 World Championship: Rodri’s return to the Spanish Speed Championship (Campeonato de España de Velocidad) as rider number 47.

This possibility grew after seeing Rodri present at the CEV test at the Albacete Circuit, held over these past few days. Seeing him on the Moto2 of Team Halcourier MS made us think he would return to racing in the national championship, but nothing was confirmed until today, when the rider himself confirmed his return to the CEV through his website.

Specifically, Rodri will compete in the Moto2 category as a member of Team Halcourier MS, that is, as a teammate of Russell Gómez and Santi Hernández, forming a strong line-up of three riders with plenty of potential who are always fighting for top positions.

Rodri will have to work hard to adapt to the AJR chassis, but he will surely be up front quickly. Apparently this test at Albacete went very well for him in getting a feel for the bike. The rider’s goal is to return to the very top, and he believes that with this AJR Moto2 bike it is achievable.

We won’t have to wait long to see the rider in action, as next week the fifth round of the season will take place at the Albacete Circuit, so on July 21 and 22 we will see him opening the throttle with his new AJR alongside the other CEV participants. Undoubtedly a great addition following his departure from the World Championship.
