Álvaro Bautista is the best in the Superbike test at the Circuit de Catalunya
The Superbike World Championship has held two days of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya, with Álvaro Bautista the fastest.

The Superbike World Championship has had a few days of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya, so there has been plenty of action and preparation among riders and teams ahead of the races next season, 2023, and in which Álvaro Bautista has once again been the reference of the Championship.
Bautista had a full day of testing and the morning of the second day, achieving the best lap time with a 1:40.459, just 0.051s away from the absolute track record set in 2021 by Tom Sykes with BMW. Álvaro tested the new front tyre that Pirelli brought to the test, with a view to maintaining the good form from the first two Rounds, although he suffered a crash at Turn 11 in the morning.
In second place was Iker Lecuona who set a 1:40.521s, so the progress of the Honda is very interesting. Lecuona’s plan was to keep testing the material that Honda brought to MotorLand Aragón, as well as the new Pirelli tyres, while Vierge, in addition to testing the compounds, focused on improvements that will help him at all the tracks.
The Kawasaki riders were only present for one day, but with good feelings on the track, so we will see whether Rea and Lowes can return to action at the next event with better performance. Toprak Razgatlioglu also had some interesting days, and leaves Circuit de Catalunya with good feelings and improvements that could give him the edge at the next event.
Looking forward to the next SBK event.
