Albert Arenas triumphs at the Moto3 World Championship round in Qatar
Albert Arenas claims the Moto3 victory in Qatar

The Moto3 and Moto2 World Championship classes have run their respective first races at the Qatar round, at the Losail Circuit, in a peculiar Grand Prix as MotoGP was not on the programme due to the travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus.
The first to hit the Losail track were the Moto3 riders, where we saw an Albert Arenas who was strong from the start, although pole sitter Tatsuki Suzuki held the lead for several laps. Arenas soon managed to overtake Raúl Fernández and then the Japanese rider to take the front and give his all at the start of this championship.
Arenas tried to open a gap on his rivals, but could not break away from the pack, although he did manage to stretch it a little, forming a group with Fernández and Binder, before Masià and Sergio García joined them. We saw a most interesting battle between the leading riders, with Fernández taking the lead with 10 laps to go, but the Madrileño took a serious fright and was passed by his rivals while he recovered from the mishap.
As the laps went by, Fernández fell back, while Suzuki got to the front with the rest on his wheel. The last two laps were heart-stopping, with Rodri causing trouble, but he was not alone: McPhee, Arenas, Binder, Arbolino and others were all trying to get into the best position to tackle the final laps.
On the penultimate lap, Arenas moved into 1st, while Binder crashed out, a shame as he was putting in a great race. This incident left Arenas and McPhee with a small gap at the front, with Masià holding 3rd place, but in the end Ogura moved into 3rd.
Victory for Arenas, with McPhee only 0.053s behind, completing the top 10 with Ogura 3rd, Masià 4th, Suzuki 5th, Rodri 6th, Alcoba 7th, Salac 8th, Foggia 9th and Fernández 10th. The rest of our riders finished García 11th, Lopez 13th and Tatay 21st.
On to the next race!
