Ai Ogura sets pole position for the Moto3 World Championship at the Misano Circuit

The Moto3 World Championship was the first to head out onto the Misano Circuit to contest pole position for the San Marino Grand Prix, so there was maximum anticipation on track to see the riders of the smallest category in action.
The first to head out onto the circuit were the Moto3 riders who had not set the best lap times in the previous practice sessions, and who now had to get through Q1 and try to secure one of the four spots that advance to Q2. The riders who set the fastest times were Tony Arbolino, Romano Fenati, Alonso López and Ricardo Rossi.
And the moment of truth had arrived, Q2, the battle for pole position, in which the Italian riders are the big favourites on one of their emblematic tracks, although the rest of the participants will give it their all. In the first few minutes we saw Ogura take control of the official practice session, followed by Rodrigo, but with plenty of time remaining for all the riders.
With 3 minutes to go, Suzuki and Migno made a bold move and took the lead, but Rodrigo was coming on very fast in the final moments and moved into first, but Ogura, on his last flying lap, set a time of 1:42.403, leaving Rodri just 0.016s behind and Suzuki 0.031s back, so there was maximum equality at the front.
The top 10 was completed by Migno in 4th, Fenati 5th, Fernandez 6th, Vietti 7th, Alcoba 8th, Arbolino 9th and Salac 10th. On to tomorrow’s race.
