Adrián Menchen takes pole position for the Kawasaki Ninja Cup at Catalunya
The Kawasaki Ninja Cup kicked off this weekend at the Circuit de Catalunya, once again alongside the Spanish Speedway Championship, which also gave the starting signal to this new season on the Catalan track.
The fourth edition of the green cup begins with Adrián Menchén on pole position for the first race, so the BST Motos Medina rider is positioned as the favorite heading into the race after setting a 1:53.857, very narrowly ahead of his main rival, Alex Mariñelarena, who finished just 0.065s behind the poleman.
Completing the front row we have Antonio Alarte and Angel Molero, the two riders from Basoli Sabadell, while starting the second row of the grid we have Alex Ferrer, the Basoli Girona rider, and alongside Ferrer are Oscar Fernández, Alan Vilches and Samuel Alonso.
Without a doubt tomorrow’s race will be very exciting, and we’ll see which of the 26 registered riders manages to take the first victory of the season. For now the favorites are those starting from the front, but in Kawasaki Ninja Cup races you never know what can happen.
We’ll keep a close eye on the KNC.
