Young rider Oscar McIntyre dies at Phillip Island
Rider Oscar McIntyre died today at Phillip Island Circuit following a tragic accident on the Australian track, which caused very serious injuries to the young rider, who was only 17 years old.
Rider Oscar McIntyre died today at Phillip Island Circuit after a extremely serious accident in the first race of the 2024 Australian Superstock 600 Championship season, a great loss of a motorcycle racing talent, a young man of just 17 years old.
The medical services attended to him quickly and did everything in their power, but his injuries were very serious, and unfortunately proved fatal for the young rider, who was involved in the accident with two other participants, Luke Burgess and Michael Lockhart, who are out of danger but under medical observation and monitored by the circuit’s medical center staff.
The accident took place between corner two and three of the Australian track, on the second lap of the twelve-lap race scheduled for this first STK600 Australia round. Yet another tragedy that casts a dark shadow over the world of motorcycle racing, another farewell to a young talent of just 17 years old who was giving his all in what he loved most: riding and competing.
From PlusMoto.com we join all the expressions of condolences and send our sympathy to the family and friends.
Rest in peace, Oscar McIntyre.
