Viñales, Espargaró and Pedrosa the best of the WU at Assen
The riders of the Motorcycle World Championship have held their warm-ups today to prepare for the world championship races at the Assen Circuit, so it's action time.
Rider Maverick Viñales remains in great form and ready for the Moto3 World Championship race at the Assen Circuit on the 25th. He managed to ride fast in the warm-up of the smaller class, leaving his main rivals behind, such as Cortese, Kent and Oliveira. Specifically, Viñales rode a 1:44.550, leaving the second-placed rider more than 2 tenths behind, as well as the third.
So Viñales, Cortese and Kent were the fastest, since the fourth-placed Oliveira is already more than 6 tenths behind, so we have three riders who showed great strength in this warm-up. Meanwhile, closing the top 10 were Louis Rossi 5th, Luis Salom 6th, Niccolò Antonelli 7th, Efrén Vázquez 8th, Alex Rins 9th and Arthur Sissis 10th.
The rest of the Spanish riders were Héctor Faubel 12th, Alberto Moncayo 16th, Isaac Viñales 18th, Adrián Martín 21st, Julián Miralles 24th and Iván Moreno 34th.
The Moto2 category once again had the same dominators, Pol Espargaró and Marc Márquez. Both riders seem to be one step ahead, as seen in the warm-up, separated by just 0.026, while the rest are more than 7 tenths behind, so there was a big difference in what was seen today in the pre-race of the intermediate class.
Behind them were 3rd Thomas Luthi, 4th Simone Corsi, 5th Bradley Smith, 6th Claudio Corti, 7th Alex de Angelis, 8th Andrea Iannone, 9th Johann Zarco and 10th Xavier Simeon. Meanwhile, the rest of the Spanish riders placed 17th Julián Simón, 19th Toni Elías, 20th Nico Terol, 24th Tito Rabat, 25th Axel Pons, 28th Ricky Cardús and 33rd Elena Rosell.
In MotoGP the best was Dani Pedrosa. The Catalan is showing great strength in these FP and WU sessions of the premier class at the Assen circuit, setting a 1:34.636 and leaving his main rival for this race, Jorge Lorenzo, 0.032s behind, so ours are very close. Not far behind was the third rooster of the coop, the aching Casey Stoner, who finished from 3rd place and 0.045s back.
Without a doubt, there is great equality among the top MotoGP riders, while behind them were Andrea Dovizioso 4th, Cal Crutchlow 5th, Ben Spies 6th, Stefan Bradl 7th, Héctor Barberá 8th, Álvaro Bautista 9th and Nicky Hayden 10th. Outside the top 10, Rossi placed 11th and our best CRT, that of Aleix Espargaró, left Iván Silva 18th.
The time for the races at Assen has arrived.
