Great victory for Toni Bou in Italy. Repsol Honda Team rider has secured his second win of the season, which has allowed him to regain the leader’s position in the World Championship. As expected, the round in Alagna Valsesia, in the Italian Alps, was of a very high standard, which favored the high performance of the Spanish rider.

Bou had a difficult start, but as the race progressed he imposed his style and technique. In the first lap he moved to the front of the event (19 points) and in the second he sealed it with an excellent score (7 points), which he was even able to reduce on the last pass through the zones (6 points). While Adam Raga took second place, the Gas Gas rider tried to catch the Montesa rider, but this time it was not possible, and Albert Cabestany completed the podium on his Sherco.

With this victory, his second of the season after the one on the second day in Australia, the Montesa Cota 4RT rider breaks the streak of three consecutive second-place finishes and regains the lead of the World Championship, one point ahead of Adam Raga, so there is pure excitement this season between the two of them.

The Trial World Championship will take a one-month break until the next round, the Belgian Grand Prix to be held in Comblain-au-Port on Sunday, July 13.

Bou’s statements:

Today we had a trial with a very high level. I started badly, with 3 mistakes before zone six, some with bad luck. But I began to recover because the zones allowed it. I still feel uncomfortable with the rules, it is a bit hard for me, but I was able to ride well in the second lap and finish strong on the last one. I felt good, physically recovered, and more comfortable than in previous races. We achieved the goal: regaining the lead, although I know that in the upcoming races, such as the Belgian trial, it will not be easy.
