After a two-month pause due to the start of the new TrialGP World Championship, the SPEA RFME Spanish Trials Championship 2017 returned to action this past weekend for its fourth round of the season in the La Rioja town of Arnedillo.

Moto Club Calahorra, with the help and collaboration of the La Rioja Motorcycling Federation, was in charge of successfully running this XXVI Trial de Arnedillo, an event whose course, with a total of 12 sections to be completed over two laps, turned out to be practically identical to the one used in 2013.

Rider Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC) took the victory, ahead of Adam Raga (TRS) in second and Jeroni Fajardo (Vertigo) in third. The eight-time overall Spanish Champion and current TR1 leader added his third consecutive win of 2017 and remains undefeated in the domestic competition to date. Three in the CET 2017. In fact, the Montesa-Honda rider had already stood on the top step of the podium four years ago, at what was then the Nacional’s last visit to Arnedillo.

Bou closed the first pass through the mandatory sections with a total of 10 points, while in the second run he dropped just 4 points. Raga finished second after accumulating 16 and 10 points, respectively. Fajardo, on the other hand, needed 17 and 12 points to climb to the final podium place.

The silver category of the CET 2017, TR2, was won for the third consecutive time by Gabriel Marcelli with a total of 4 points§h15;, 9 fewer than Jose Maria Moral in second, and 18 fewer than Aniol Gelabert, who finished third. Meanwhile, Mireia Conde, Berta Abellán and Maria Giró filled the top three places in Femenino A. The two-time overall Spanish Champion Conde scored her first win of the year after totaling 15 points. Abellán added 21 points, while Giró knocked Neus Murcia off the podium in a tiebreak on zeros, as both signed cards with 26 points.

In the rest of the levels in action, the winners were the following riders: David Millán in TR3; Adrià Albejano in TR4; Gil Vila, who claimed his first win in Junior; and Pau Martínez in Cadete.

The fifth and sixth rounds of the SPEA RFME Spanish Trials Championship 2017 will take place on July 15 and 16 in Sant Corneli, Barcelona, both organized by Moto Club Baix Berguedà. The 12 categories called up this year by the CET will take the start: TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4, Junior, Cadete, Femenino A, B and C, Juvenil A and B, and Veterano.
