Tommy Hill pole-sitter at BSB in Brands Hatch
Rider Tommy Hill has taken pole position for the British Superbike Championship at the Brands Hatch circuit, setting a time of 1:25.357s and leaving one of his main rivals, John Hopkins, behind.
The Swan Yamaha rider set pole by just 0.047s, so things are very tight, and the rest of the field will give their all to beat him after the start.
One of the riders who gave Hill the most trouble was Hopkins, but in the end he had to settle for second place behind Hill.
Completing the top 5 were Michael Laverty, who also showed great pace and will line up on the front row of the grid at Brands Hatch, while Joan Lascorz, who is in the British round as a wildcard and is so far doing an excellent job, lined up on the second row.
Completing the top 5 was Shane Byrne, the local rider and crowd favourite, who held off the attacks of Jessopp and Rutter, sixth and seventh respectively.
