The Symmetry, SYM's electric scooter
The Symmetry is the electric scooter from the SYM brand, an interesting prospect for the future, an option that is being brought to us and that joins the rest of electric vehicles in carving out a place in the market.
The brand SYM is also betting on a different future for its motorcycle models, having presented the Symmetry, an electric scooter that may well become one of the best-sellers in this category before long, since “electric” is attracting more and more interest and would be a great option for more urban commuting.
It is a very small scooter model, with 10-inch wheels and a weight of just 56 kg, so maximum mobility. The battery and heart of this machine are located right on the platform, weighing around 9 kg and removable so it can be recharged at home, although this function can also be carried out with the battery mounted on the scooter.
The motor area is located in the hub of the rear wheel, converting more than 80 % of the energy it receives into motion force, into thrust. Although it is not very powerful, it would be enough to get around urban areas, but we would have to use almost full power all the time, with a top speed of 45 km/h on flat ground, while on hills or more complex terrain is where you will notice more that it lacks strength.
The battery has a capacity of 15 Ah, so the range would be around 50 km. The brakes are drum brakes and are suited to the demands of this machine, as are the geometry and the frame.
For now the listed price is 2,565 euros including VAT, so quite expensive compared with what can be found on the market, but interesting for its development and the upcoming models, although you should not rule out the SYM Symmetry.
