Specifically, the agreement stipulates that the circuit will host the Grand Prix for the next five years. Great news for the German public and fans. It was certainly expected that it would continue this way, given that the track has welcomed more than 200,000 visitors in recent years, a high figure that has influenced this decision.
The Sachsenring officials have reached an agreement with ADAC to sign this five-year contract so that the track can host one of the country’s largest sporting events. During the weekend of the German Grand Prix in July, Dorna Sports and ADAC reached an agreement confirming the continuation of the German GP on the MotoGP World Championship calendar for the next five years.
Sachsenring is the ideal venue for the German motorcycle Grand Prix. I am delighted that Sachsenring will host the World Championship for the next five years. The event has been a huge success since 1998, and now we can already look forward to our twentieth anniversary in 2017. I would like to thank Dorna Sports for their patience during the negotiations over the last few months, and all the people who have put in so much effort to secure the future of the German GP.
More confirmations for the rest of the seasons on the MotoGP calendar will follow.
