The Night of the Jumps at the Arena Riga

The Night of the Jumps returns to action in Riga, at the Arena Riga, where the 11th round of the season will be held, and where the title could be decided this season, with the big fight between Bizouard and Podmol, although for now the Frenchman is the leader and the one with the best chances of taking the 2012 crown.

The Night of the Jumps left us wanting more a few weeks ago in Barcelona, since the event was cancelled and we couldn’t see some of the best riders fly over the skies of the Catalan capital, but now we present what will be the penultimate round of the year in Riga.

The event could be decisive for the championship title, but we’ll see what happens and how the overall standings stand going into the final round of 2012 in Bulgaria. But first we’ll see the decisive first part this Saturday on a luxury stage, the Arena Riga.

For now, the overall leader is Remi Bizouard, followed 20 points behind by Libor Podmol, so there’s maximum excitement in this 11th round of the season. We’ll also be watching third-placed David Rinaldo, although he is already 60 points behind the leader.

The provisional top 5 before the Riga round is completed by Brice Izzo in 4th and Hannes Ackermann in 5th. Meanwhile, the first Spaniard is Maikel Melero in sixth place overall.

For this round in Riga, the following riders have been confirmed to attend, among whom are the favourites, as could not be otherwise, and also two Spanish representatives, Melero and Miralles.

  • Remi Bizouard (FRA)
  • Libor Podmol (CZE)
  • David Rinaldo (FRA)
  • Brice Izzo (FRA)
  • Hannes Ackermann (GER)
  • Maikel Melero (ESP)
  • Massimo Bianconcini (ITA)
  • Jose Miralles (ESP)
  • Javier Villegas (CHL)
  • Petr Pilat (CZE)
  • Josh Sheehan (AUS)

Good luck to “El Loco” Miralles and to Melero at this round, go for it all on the Night of the Jumps.
