The Holiday Gym team withdraws from the Moto2 World Championship
Another team is leaving the Motorcycle World Championship, so there are more casualties in the championship. This time it is Holiday Gym, which competed in the Moto2 category with Xavier Simeon, who is now left without a team or a bike for 2011.
Therefore, with this decision to leave the intermediate category, one place becomes vacant and one rider is left free. We will see whether new entries appear in Moto2 and whether anyone bets on the Belgian Simeon to ride one of their machines.
According to the team managers, their structure was too large, with two riders and sometimes three during 2010. For next year the plan was for just one rider, so this performance was not what they expected and did not fit their plans.
The decision by Yannick Guerra to leave motorcycle racing to focus on his studies as a commercial airline pilot will also have played a part, since remember that his father owns Holiday Gym, so there is probably not as much interest.
So, another goodbye…
We will keep watching Moto2.
