The Dakar 2011 Race Direction modifies the route of the seventh stage
The Dakar 2011 Argentina-Chile Race Direction has decided to make some changes ahead of the seventh stage, since the last special has taken many competitors out of the race, and others who were only able to compete in part of it.
The Personal Dakar organization has therefore deemed it advisable to reduce the difficulty of the next stage between Arica and Antofagasta. For this reason, the second part of the special prepared for the seventh stage has been removed, leaving the day as a 272.68-kilometre special plus a liaison back to the camp.
Despite this reduction in distance, the stage will still feature very demanding sections and will give a breather to the pilots still competing, as the second week of the rally is expected to be extremely tough.
We will keep watching the Dakar.
