The Biaggi controversy and his fuel injection pump in SBK
The controversy at the World Superbike Championship has resurfaced, as some media outlets reported that Max Biaggi’s Aprilia RSV4 would not have passed the verification test at Assen.
Apparently, the irregularity they refer to lies in the fuel injection pump, since it weighed between 300 and 500 grams less and requires less energy, so it has specifications not established by the regulations. Despite no penalty being imposed, the team is required to change the system before the next race in Monza.
Aprilia denies that the pump is illegal and claims the confusion is related to the manufacturing date that appeared on that part. So, for now, these are the two points of view, and we will see what is decided before the race on May 8th in Monza.
What do you think?
We will keep a close eye on the Superbikes.
