The Aprilia Racing Team SBK was presented yesterday with Biaggi and Laverty

The Aprilia Racing Team was presented yesterday in Milan, together with its two star riders for the 2012 season, Max Biaggi and Eugene Laverty, both with their respective Aprilia RSV4s at full power.

The Aprilia Racing World Superbike Team was presented yesterday in Milan, at Spazio Broletto 13, where the Piaggio brand is headquartered and presentations are held, so it has become the center of attention for the World SBK Championship, with Max Biaggi and Eugene Laverty as the main protagonists.

Today we were able to see the new design, colors and team kits for one of the strongest teams in the World SBK Championship, and without a doubt one of those that will give our Carlos Checa the most trouble in his defense of the crown, especially Max Biaggi, the former champion who is looking for revenge and to recover the number 1.

Having Biaggi, five-time World Champion and the only rider so far to have won the SBK crown on an Aprilia RSV4, alongside Laverty, a rider who impressed a lot on his debut last season and improved race after race, makes this team a very dangerous tandem for the rest of the rivals.

Statements from Biaggi.

It matters little how many seasons we have been racing and how many titles we have won. At the start of every season I am always motivated to the maximum.

Furthermore, I must say that for this 2012 season I am even more focused on all the work we have ahead of us, especially after what happened last year. I am sure I can still play an important role in this championship, but at the same time I am aware that this year there will be even more competition after the team changes of many of my rivals.

We are going to have to work hard to keep growing, but I can assure you that this year, once again, everyone will have to fight against us.

Statements from Laverty:

This is my second season in Superbikes, but I must say that during the Portimão tests last autumn I felt comfortable from the start. From the first laps on the RSV4 I had a very good feeling with the bike and, in addition, the team made me feel part of the family from the very first minute.

I still have to do a huge number of laps to get familiar with my new Aprilia, not forgetting the difficulties that always exist at the beginning when you change teams, but at the same time I am clear that I am here to try to accumulate as many podiums as possible and, why not, bring home some victories. That said, my main goal is to keep growing and to become faster and faster.
