The AMA Superbike will join MotoGP at Laguna Seca
The AMA Superbike will be part of the MotoGP weekend at the Laguna Seca Circuit, maximum excitement on the American track.
The MotoGP World Championship heads to Laguna Seca without the Moto2 and Moto3 classes, but they won’t be alone on the American track, as the AMA Superbike will share the stage in a weekend that is expected to be spectacular.
Without a doubt, being able to watch these two championships on the same circuit, and especially at the legendary Laguna Seca, is spectacular. Although it has been confirmed that three of the four classes usually contested in this championship will take part in the AMA, its format also changes slightly, as only one race will be run, not two heats as is usual.
The first to take to the track and get the action going will be the Supersport riders on Saturday, while the Sportbike and Superbike classes will take to the track on Sunday in races that are expected to be the most exciting, and perfect for warming up the engines and cooling them down after MotoGP.
The Superbike class will be the most exciting, with Josh Hayes in great form and with plenty of determination to defend his leadership position, but Blake Young will fight to close the gap. The truth is that Hayes is in incredible form, and if he wins at Laguna Seca he will be the first in the SuperBike AMA Pro National to win eight consecutive races in a single season. Right now he shares the honor of 7 victories with Mat Mladin and Ben Spies.
In the SportBike class we have seen several riders win on this track: Ben Bostrom, Martin Cardenas and Danny Eslick; but right now only Cardenas could repeat that result. He will give his all to make it happen and increase his gap and lead as the class leader over Dane Westby, who is currently 2nd, and Tommy Hayden, who is 3rd.
Three races, three classes and a great MotoGP company, pure show.
