Sofuoglu, Sykes and Barrier the fastest in the Assen Warm Up

The World Superbike, Supersport and Superstock 1000 Championships have held their warm-ups for what will be the third round of the 2013 season at the Assen Circuit, so all riders and teams are putting the finishing touches on their setups for what promises to be a very intense round in all categories.

The first to head out on track were the Superstock 1000 riders, followed by the Superbike riders and finally the Supersport riders, in the same order the races will run later, although SBK will run two races as always.

The fastest in STK 1000 in this warm-up was Sylvain Barrier, with a time of 1:39.752, leaving Canepa, second, 0.264s behind. The top 10 was completed by Guarnoni in 3rd, La Marra 4th, Mercado 5th, Savadori 6th, Lanusse 7th, Gildenhuys 8th, Walraven 9th and Andreozzi 10th.

Next it was the turn of the SBK riders, who went out to set up their bikes at 100% and check that everything was working well, so they could take on the first race with good feelings. The fastest in this session was Tom Sykes with a time of 1:36.711, followed by Rea more than a tenth behind. The top 10 was completed by Davies 3rd, Baz 4th, Melandri 5th, Giugliano 6th, Laverty 7th, Guintoli 8th, Checa 9th and Cluzel 10th. Our Carlos Checa is taking it step by step, but the number 7 will make some noise in action.

Closing the warm-ups, the Supersport riders took to the Dutch track, with Kenan Sofuoglu as the fastest with a time of 1:38.685, followed by Sam Lowes 0.268s behind. The top 10 was completed by Kennedy 3rd, Foret 4th, Antonelli 5th, VDMark 6th, Marino 7th, Scassa 8th, Russo 9th and Ivanov 10th. Calero finished 25th and Baldolini 15th.

Now comes the real action: we will start with the STK1000 race, then go straight to SBK 1, Supersport, and close with SBK 2 from the Assen Circuit.
