Several teams from the Moto2 World Championship testing at the Circuit de Catalunya

Several Moto2 World Championship teams have been at the Circuit de Catalunya this week to carry out private tests on the Catalan track, so everything is set to arrive prepared for the next date on the 2016 calendar at the Le Mans Circuit.

Among the teams in the intermediate category we have seen those of Sito Pons, with both Álex Rins and Edgar Pons working with their respective machines on the Catalan layout. Rins has been trying different options to finish the day with a good pace and very satisfied with the work carried out. Edgar, for his part, has been covering kilometres in short runs with the intention of regaining feeling on the bike, trying to recover his physical condition, which has been substantially reduced by the Hepatitis A he has been fighting over the last few weeks.

The current leader of the provisional overall standings, Sam Lowes, was also present at the circuit, who gave his all in a test that his team made the most of, all to prepare for the round on the Catalan track next June, as well as the French round to be held next week at Le Mans. Lowes completed a total of 101 laps, so he was at the top in this test.

Alongside them were also the riders of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Moto2, Franco Morbidelli and Álex Márquez, who enjoyed an intense training day today at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. Both riders focused on fine-tuning the setup of their Moto2 Kalex, as well as evaluating a good number of new components and Öhlins settings, the team’s suspension supplier.

Morbidelli also tested changes to the chassis geometry with positive results, while Márquez worked on an extensive preparation programme for his home race, which will take place in Barcelona from 3 to 5 June. Jonas Folger was also present testing his machine, among others.
