Red Devils Roma Team with Canepa for SBK 2012

The Ducati Roma team has changed its name for 2012, becoming Red Devils Roma Team, a name with strength, with memories and with great moments, so lots of strength for this start of the season.

Yesterday there were further changes in the World Superbike Championship, as the team led by Andrea Petricca has changed its name. It will now be called Red Devils Roma Team, leaving behind Ducati Roma to become the red devils of SBK for the 2012 season.

This change came from the team manager, as they were looking for a name that would bring them good memories and great days, intense battles, and the truth is that nothing beats a name from when they started out in the world of two wheels, with their first steps in motorcycling.

Petricca’s statements:

Red Devils has been familiar to me since I started in this. It brings to mind riders like Aldeo Presciutti, who rode and won under that name.

We also want to take the city’s name to other places and have it present at some of the most prestigious venues in the motorsport world.

The rider for this team, remember, is Niccoló Canepa, the former world champion who is in Superbikes eager to have a good season, without problems and with chances of results. To prepare, he will complete some training this weekend at the Vallelunga Circuit, after which everyone will head to Phillip Island for the official championship tests and the first race. The start of the 2012 season is approaching.

Will this name change work out well?

We are in for high-voltage Superbike racing in 2012, plenty of rooster-fighting in such a small pen, and with a new king, Carlos Checa. Let’s see what Canepa can do with his Ducati.
