Quero, Borner and Pons triumph at the CMV de Catalunya

The Mediterranean Speed Championship arrived at the Circuit de Catalunya last weekend with the small categories, with great races and a lot of action from the little ones on two wheels.

Last weekend the races of the small categories of the Mediterranean Speed Championship were held at the Circuit de Catalunya, so the young two-wheel talents were on the Catalan track, where they put on a great show in every race.

The best were Álex Borner, who won the Challenge 80cc, Miquel Pons in Pre 125 and Borja Quero in Pre Moto3, but none of them had an easy time of it. Instead, we saw plenty of fighting, pure motorcycle racing, pure passion in action and on track.

In the Challenge 80cc, Borner got the most out of his machine, in a race that was exciting right up to the end, with 21 riders on the grid ready to fight at every corner, and in the end Borner ahead of Alexandre Juanes and Jaime Masia. For his part, the leader and pole sitter of the event, Arón Canet, did not have a good day on the Catalan track, and halfway through the race he had to retire due to problems.

So with Canet out, everything seemed to be contested between Borner, Juanes and Masia, a movie-style fight right up to the last second, with the victory finally going to Alex, followed by Jaime and, third, Alexandre.

The next race was the Pre 125 and Pre Moto3, which were run at the same time, with Pons and Quero the winners of the day, on a grid of 18 riders. Quero, who had taken pole, made the most of that position and won after breaking away from the rest of the field in the final laps. In the end, more than two seconds behind, Fabio Quartararo finished, followed by Oscar Gutiérrez. In sixth place came the first Pre 125 rider, Miquel Pons, followed by Guillem Espinosa and Illan Fernández.

Great races at the Circuit de Catalunya.
