Pedro Acosta takes pole position for the Moto2 World Championship in Austria
Rider Pedro Acosta has taken pole position for the Moto2 World Championship at the Spielberg Circuit in Austria, followed by Ogura and Vietti.

The Moto2 World Championship was the next to hit the track at the Spielberg Circuit in Austria to contest the battle for pole position in the intermediate class, with no doubt the highest expectation to see the riders in action on the Austrian track.
First out were the riders who had not managed to place themselves among the best combined times, and now it was time to go through Q1 and fight for one of the four spots giving access to Q2, with García, Tulovic, Foggia and Binder being the best of this session.
And finally, the time for Q2 arrived, in which we saw Celestino Vietti be the fastest in the first part of the training session, but there were still many minutes ahead, and the all-out attack from all the riders on the grid in the final minutes.
With 5 minutes to go, Vietti was still leading the times, until Ogura began to show his strength and placed himself 1st. We also saw Pedro Acosta crash, but with 2 minutes left, Acosta managed to set the best time. Without doubt, the 37 is very strong on the Austrian track.
Finally, pole position goes to Pedro Acosta. The championship leader, despite his crash, was the best, achieving a time of 1:34.040, leaving second-place Ogura 0.271s behind. The top 10 is completed by Vietti in 3rd, Dixon 4th, Chantra 5th, Aldeguer 6th, Arbolino 7th, Arenas 8th, González 9th and Canet 10th.
On to the race.
