Off-road training for Lorenzo, Cardús, A. Espargaró and Vico
Riders Jorge Lorenzo, Ricky Cardús, Aleix Espargaró and Javier García Vico were training on the off-road track at the Circuit de Catalunya a few days ago, where we could see Cardús and Lorenzo quite recovered from their injuries.
A few days ago we received some good news, as both the MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo and the Moto2 rider Ricky Cardús were training again with more or less normality after their serious injuries at the end of the 2011 season.
The two World Championship riders trained and put themselves to the test a little on the Off Road circuit at the Circuit de Catalunya, with two Yamahas and good company, such as the great specialist rider Javier García Vico and another World Championship rider who didn’t want to miss this training session, Aleix Espargaró.
Much of the training took place in the dirt track area, where all the participants were able to enjoy it to the fullest, and we could see Lorenzo quite recovered from his injury, just like Cardús. Both got stuck in and didn’t miss the chance to open the throttle fully, to the point where they had to be told to slow down a little. Espargaró also joined the fun.
The Yamaha rider, the 99, suffered a small slip without consequences, only a scrape on the machine he was riding, so it was a clean fall with little significance. Afterwards they stopped to rest and have lunch as a group, and finally, to round off a great day, they decided to head to the other off-road area of the Catalan track, where they practised some jumps.
We’re pleased to see both riders quite recovered from their injuries, both Cardús and Lorenzo, it was clear they were eager to get back to opening the throttle.
We would like to thank Arnau Pasalodos for providing the photos and information.
