Mena wins the first day of the Spanish Enduro Championship in Santiago
The Spanish Enduro Championship has started in Santiago with a very strong Oriol Mena, who took first place in the Scratch classification, so the Catalan rider on his Husaberg dominated the first day and hopes to do the same today on this second day.
Yesterday the first day of action of the Spanish Enduro Championship took place in Santiago de Compostela, which is the opening round of the national competition, so there was maximum interest in this first day.
In addition, it was a splendid day to welcome the 200 riders taking part in this event, who on Friday experienced a most exciting moment at the Plaza del Obradoiro, where they were presented to the expectant public. It was from that legendary square that all the riders set off today, which was truly fascinating. For his part, we were able to see the Spanish Cross Country champion in spectacular form: Oriol Mena secured victory on this first day of Enduro action. The Catalan rider put in an exceptional first lap, and the advantage he gained allowed him to manage it and keep his rivals under control. In the Scratch classification, Iván Cervantes was second and Lorenzo Santolino third.

The truth is that I am very happy with how everything went. The start of the race was decisive, since I went very well in the first two special stages and was able to manage the lead I built over my rivals to win.
Now the rider on the Husaberg faces the race that will be run today, although it won’t be easy, because both Cervantes and Santolino are very strong and won’t let him take this day easily. But you never know what can happen at this kind of event.
