Marc Coma wins stage three of the Morocco Rally
Marc Coma has responded the way it should be done after a somewhat strange penalty in the Morocco Rally, so the Catalan didn’t keep anyone waiting and won stage three to once again show the kind of rider he is.
With today’s victory, we could say he has achieved his first official win in Morocco, cutting the gap to the rally leader by 7 minutes. The KTM rider also came out with all the force his anger gave him, as he began overtaking riders who had started earlier, all the way up to first place.
This time Coma’s victory was unchallenged, followed by Gonçalves in second place and Verhoeven rounding out the podium for this stage.
Meanwhile, current leader Cyril Despres took this stage very calmly, since he had to start among the front runners, opening the way, so he didn’t want to take many risks, finishing sixth on this stage, seven minutes behind the Catalan.
Today the fourth stage will be run at Erg Chegaga, another new loop of two passes over a route very similar to that of the second stage, which gave Coma so many headaches. We’ll see how this new stage unfolds.
We’ll keep watching the Rally.
