Leon Camier best in the QP2 SBK in the wet at Miller Motorsport Park
The World Superbike Championship has held its Qualifying Practice 2 at the Miller Motorsport Park circuit, although the track conditions are not the riders’ favourites, as it is wet and very cold.
Because of these weather conditions, the riders have not been able to beat the times set in QP1, held yesterday in much more favourable conditions. They have been well off the times set yesterday, and nobody has managed to beat their first qualifying times at the Salt Lake City circuit.
The fastest rider in the wet was Leon Camier, followed by Jakub Smrz, Leon Haslam and Carlos Checa, but all of them well off their own dry times.
Of course, this QP2 has had no effect whatsoever, since with the combined classification we keep the QP1 times, and therefore Carlos Checa remains the best with his 1:48.260.
Behind Checa came Camier, Biaggi, Sykes, Corser, Rea, Smrz, Laverty, Fabrizio and Badovini, completing the top ten, while Xaus was 14th and Lascorz 17th.
Now it’s time for free practice, and then we’ll move on to the SBK Superpole.
