Kiyonari scores a double at the BSB at Donington Park
Last weekend saw the ninth round of the 2014 British Superbike Championship held at Donington Park, where we witnessed some of the most interesting and, as always, exciting races. The BSB undoubtedly continues to leave us speechless.
Last weekend saw the ninth round of the 2014 British Superbike Championship held at Donington Park, where we witnessed some of the most interesting and, as always, exciting races. The BSB undoubtedly continues to leave us speechless.
The first race on the British track went to Kiyonari, the Japanese rider has been very strong in these last few races, while in second place was Byrne, who finished 0.184s behind the winner of the first race of the weekend. Completing the podium of the first race was Tommy Bridewell, but already more than a second behind the leading riders.
We were able to see an interesting battle between Kiyonari and Byrne, two veterans with plenty of fire in their bellies, without a doubt a race to remember and great conditions at Donington Park. The top 10 of this first race was completed by Brookes in 4th, Easton 5th, Waters 6th, Hickman 7th, Linfoot 8th, Muff 9th and Westmoreland 10th.
If the first race had been a battle between Byrne and Kiyonari, in this second race we saw it again and with the same final result, although this time the Japanese rider gained more of an advantage over Shane, crossing the finish line almost half a second ahead of the championship leader. Meanwhile, Brookes crossed the line in third, but more than a second behind the winner of the second race of this weekend at the British track.
The top 10 was completed by Easton in 4th, Waters 5th, Da Costa 6th, Hickman 7th, Westmoreland 8th, Hopkins 9th and Walker 10th. With these results, we have that Byrne remains the leader with 562 points, while in second place we have Brookes with 536 points, that is, 26 points behind the current leader, with three rounds left on the calendar.
A double for Kiyonari, who is having a great end to the 2014 season in the BSB.
