ISDE Germany Day 2: France keeps unstoppable
The ISDE is underway and the French team is proving nearly unbeatable, with Australia 2nd and Italy 3rd, so there are still plenty of days ahead.

The 2012 ISDE got off to a strong start in Germany for the French team. In these Six Days International Enduro, plenty of action is expected in every section and track, but after two days of competition we are seeing a clear superiority from the French team over the rest of the participants.
After a first day in which the French team of Meo, Thain, Aubert, Renet, Guillaume and Nambotin gave the rest of the squads a significant lesson, on this second day, which was held yesterday, they did not fall short either, increasing the lead they hold over the second-placed team so far, the Australian team.
The biggest surprise so far is undoubtedly that Australian team, which holds second place and is trying to give the great dominators a bit of a fight: a team made up of Kearney, Milner, Hollis, Phillips, Strang and Price. While third place has changed hands, the Italian team of Micheluz, Philippaerts, Salvini, Balletti, Monni and Gruitti has overtaken the Finnish team, who are now fourth, just ahead of ours. The Spanish team had a rather bad second day in terms of crashes, as rider Cristóbal Guerrero fell in section 4 and got injured, which puts him out of the competition. We are following his condition very closely because the crash was a nasty one.
In the Junior Trophy there has been a change of dominator: if on the first day the French were also the best among the younger riders, on this second day the British have stepped up and been the best, taking the lead ahead of France and the United States. In the rider standings, the French are the strongest, with Antoine Meo in E1, followed by Eero Remes and our own Lorenzo Santolino in 3rd. In E2, Pierre A. Renet is in charge, followed by Aubert and Salvini. In E3 the best is Nambotin, followed by Price and Ljunggreen.
Today brings the third day of maximum excitement, and of course we will be watching very closely the physical condition of Cristóbal Guerrero.
