Franco Morbidelli wins the Moto2 race at Assen
Rider Franco Morbidelli wins the Moto2 race at the Assen Circuit.

The Moto2 World Championship was the last to take to the Assen track for the 2017 season race, with the intermediate displacement class being the last to contest the event. At the start we saw Luthi take the lead, followed by Morbidelli, who quickly overtook the Swiss rider and began pushing hard at the front.
With 20 laps to go we saw Morbidelli losing a few positions, specifically Oliveira took the lead, followed by Nakagami, with Franco in third place, followed by his teammate, Márquez. As the laps went by, we watched the Portuguese rider remain at the front, setting the pace for the group, followed by a Pasini who was coming through from behind with great force.
Shortly after seeing Pasini overtake Morbidelli, we saw him move to the front, into first position, with 18 laps to go, while Franco managed to get on the tail of his compatriot and overtake Oliveira, so that both of them pushed hard in the leading group. But in this race we had a large group in pursuit, and with 15 laps to go Nakagami moved into first position, while Pasini and Morbidelli were 2nd and 3rd.
And if the race wasn’t exciting enough on its own, with 10 laps to go we had to see the rain flags displayed, and without a doubt there was a lot of tension as the first drops hit the asphalt. But in the end it didn’t rain, and we were able to watch the full race without problems from the conditions.
In the final corners we saw Luthi dominating, but with the group very close together, with no clear winner among them, although Luthi and Morbidelli were in the top positions. Finally, victory went to Franco Morbidelli, who delivered a crushing blow to the Swiss rider on the last lap, showing that he is the championship leader. The top 10 was completed by Pasini 4th, Oliveira 5th, Marquez 6th, Simeon 7th, Syahrin 8th, Quartararo 9th and 10th Bagnaia.
