David Salom takes pole for the Supersport World Championship in Australia
Rider David Salom has secured pole position for the Supersport World Championship at Phillip Island, the Kawasaki Motocard.com rider who had always settled for second place in the previous practice sessions, but in the session that counted he unleashed his full potential and set the first pole of the season.
Salom posted a 1:34.070 in the final part of the session, leaving his main rivals behind: Fabien Foret was second and Broc Parkes third, so both Salom and his teammate will try to stop him from the start of tomorrow’s race in Australia.
The front row is completed by this season’s surprise, a true rider of the future, Sam Lowes, who finished fourth and places himself among the favourites for the opening round of the season, while behind them come Luca Scassa, Roberto Tamburini, Florian Marino and Chaz Davies.
Good luck to Salom in tomorrow’s race.
We will keep an eye on the Supersport.
