David Salom fractures his little finger and is doubtful for SSP Australia
Rider David Salom crashed during the free practice sessions of the Supersport World Championship at the Phillip Island Circuit, being one of those affected on a very eventful day on the Australian track, but the worst was confirmed afterwards with a fracture to the little finger of his right hand. Now we will have to wait to see whether he can take part in the first round of the 2013 season.

Salom was taken to the medical centre after the crash, and from there to a hospital in Melbourne, where they have been carrying out the necessary tests to diagnose the injury and rule out anything else. The most affected part turned out to be the little finger of his right hand, which is broken, in addition to having his entire back covered in bruises.
Because of this incident, the Mallorcan has spent the day in hospital, and has not been able to take part in the first Supersport qualifying session at the Australian track. The worst of it is that we will see whether he can get back on the bike for QP2 and the race. For now we will have to wait to see what the doctors tell him tomorrow, whether the area has improved a little, and whether he can ride a few laps in the free practice sessions on the Kawasaki.
If he is allowed back on the bike, he will be able to test and see whether he can ride under minimum conditions. Although the Mallorcan has commented that he finds it difficult, the truth is that it is bad news, because he was setting strong lap times and was among the leaders. We will see what finally happens, but whatever happens, Salom will make his mark this 2013 season.
Cheer up.
