Blusens by Paris Hilton speaks out about Gadea's departure

The Blusens by Paris Hilton team has issued a press release to explain the departure of Sergio Gadea from the team

After much speculation and rumour, the Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing team has issued a press release regarding Sergio Gadea’s departure from the team starting from the Motorland Aragón Grand Prix.

Below you can read the team’s statement:

A series of circumstances that have gradually built up over the course of the season have led the team to make this difficult decision. After carefully studying each of them, and once this decision had been communicated to Sergio Gadea, we wish to clarify the main reasons that have led the team and Sergio himself to reach this agreement which, despite the circumstances, allows both parties to maintain cordial relations.

First and foremost, Blusens By Paris Hilton Racing wishes to thank Sergio Gadea for all the effort he has made to date, and deeply regrets that, despite the work and commitment that the rider, technicians, mechanics and all the team’s personnel have put in during the time they have been together, the sporting results have not been what was expected since his signing at the end of last season.

We sincerely believe that neither party can accuse the other of lacking commitment or enthusiasm since the start of the project.

The team has made every possible resource available to achieve the objectives. At the rider’s request, a technician of proven experience and his trusted mechanics were brought in to offer him the utmost guarantees.

The rider has worked hard, honestly and professionally throughout this time in search of the confidence needed to ride a 125 GP bike, but results and consistency have not fully arrived.

Despite the two podiums achieved by Sergio (third in Qatar and Assen), the reality is that his current 8th place in the overall 125 c.c. World Championship standings (more than 110 points behind the leader) is a poor return for a project that the team and rider launched with the highest aspirations and with the goal of fighting for the world title.

The financial effort made by the team to date has been maximal, and facing a championship finish in these circumstances without the utmost guarantees of sporting success is difficult to bear for any organisation or company, given the complicated current economic climate and the notable difficulty in completing budgets.

In addition, the team has recently been obliged to carry out some staff restructuring, which in no way brings better conditions to offer the guarantees that a rider of Sergio Gadea’s calibre deserves.

We are certain and convinced that Sergio Gadea will once again be competitive and a winner. We all hoped that his return to the 125 c.c. class this season would have been triumphant, but the reality is that from the Motorland race onwards Sergio will refocus on the Moto2 category, in order to prepare in good time for his move to 4-stroke machines for 2012.

Meanwhile, Blusens By Paris Hilton Racing will give a young rider such as Josep Rodríguez an opportunity to support him in his development and sporting growth over the coming Grand Prix events, without any pressure or need for immediate results.

What do you think?
