Axel Pons has gone under the knife to continue his recovery
Rider Axel Pons has undergone surgery by Doctor Ginebreda in order to remove the pins that had been placed after his serious accident at the Spanish Velocity Championship in Jerez.
The pins had been placed in his tibias to control the fractures caused by the accident, so the doctors have decided to remove them, taking into account the recovery the young CEV rider has made and now the 250cc World Championship.
On November 20th he underwent various tests that confirmed the great rehabilitation of Sito Pons’s son, so the doctors decided to operate so that he can return to riding for the 2009 pre-season.
For the moment it seems that the operation has gone perfectly and in just 8-10 days he will be fully recovered from it, so the Catalan has made a very rapid recovery considering the severity of his injuries.
We will keep a close eye on Axel Pons.
