Augusto Fernández successfully operated on for his thumb injury
Rider Augusto Fernández has been successfully operated on for a fracture of the left thumb.

Rider Augusto Fernández has been successfully operated on in Barcelona. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider had to go under the knife at the Dexeus University Hospital in the Catalan capital to treat the extra-articular fracture of the first metacarpal of the left thumb.
Apparently, while training on his motorcycle last Thursday, Augusto suffered an injury to the left thumb area, and he had to put himself in the hands of Dr. Xavier Mir to fix the fracture in the best possible way and be ready for the start of the season and the pre-season tests.
Fernández spent 24 hours under observation at the hospital to monitor the operation. Now that he has been discharged, he will begin recovery and rehabilitation 72 hours after the procedure. So soon we will have him working on his setup for what promises to be a very interesting 2022 Moto2 World Championship season.
Get well soon!
