Alpinestars Anatomy, a different suit by David Gwyther
Alpinestars and David Gwyther join forces to create a suit design that will leave no one indifferent.
Browsing the long list of motorsport websites, and more specifically those dedicated to motorcycles, we have come across a very special article: an Alpinestars suit that is closer to art than to design for manufacturing. It is the suit designed by David Gwyther, the new version of the one by Dave Aldana.
Dave Aldana was an American rider specialized in oval dirt tracks, that is, dirt track racing. Dave wore a curious black suit featuring a skeleton.
Now the artist Gwyther, the customizer of Death Spray, has come up with this new idea, model or decoration, call it what you will, which displays the vital organs of a person. It turns out to be a fun and at least curious idea, which brings back to mind the fragility of motorcyclists, while also playing with the contrast of presenting it on a safety system of this level. It therefore represents a paradox in itself.
As the author himself says: “The conflict between protection and the body is more evident than ever in motorcycling and motorsport”.
In addition, an inner lining in red in mesh form gives it a final touch, as it reminds us of the blood that flows through our body. Everything is depicted: intestines, liver, lungs, heart, stomach…
We hope it has surprised you as much as it surprised us, and we hope to see it in stores in the future, since a clothing line like this would surely be a success.
