Yesterday the riders Marc Márquez and Álex Márquez experienced one of the happiest days in their hometown, Cervera, where all their followers, fans, friends, family and townspeople paid a lovely tribute to the two Champions

The entire Márquez family, accompanied by hundreds of people, celebrated the achievement of the titles of the Moto2 World Championship for Marc, and of the Spanish Speed Championship in Moto3 for Álex, closing out a dream season for both of them shortly in Valencia.

After signing the Honour Book of the Town Hall and carrying out the most official act, as well as a short press conference, the Repsol riders led a parade through the different streets of Cervera, until reaching a stage specially prepared for the occasion, which became the perfect finale to the celebrations, with the Márquez brothers letting loose alongside their people.

Both were able to say a few words of thanks to everyone present, in a well-deserved tribute after a year full of records for Marc Márquez, two-time World Champion, and for his brother Álex, CEV winner and current Moto3 World Championship rider. After this celebration, both will have a few days of relaxation before returning to the garages and pit lane, all in preparation for the final round of the Motorcycling World Championship at the Valencia circuit, where it will be the perfect finale.

An ideal afternoon-evening, perfect and very emotional and enjoyable, undoubtedly a lovely memory to face the last races of the 2012 season, and to start 2013 with enthusiasm.

Statements by Marc Márquez:

I am very happy because at these events you can see all the appreciation people show you. I try to show them that they are also very important to me, that without them everything would cost a bit more, and this push they give you is always appreciated.

Statements by Álex Márquez:

It has been a very special day. We have been able to enjoy both titles with the whole town, my brother’s and mine. His is more important and I think it deserves more prominence, but seeing all the people out in the streets is a source of pride and an extra motivation for me. Now it’s time to rest and start preparing for the Valencia race.

Congratulations to both of them, and don’t miss the video of the celebration.
