125GP CEV Bagnaia Penalized, Race Result Modified
We have just been notified that Francesco Bagnaia has been penalized in the 125GP race of the Spanish Speed Championship. Apparently he committed some irregularity and has been given a one-minute penalty, so he drops from third place to 16th.
Apparently Bagnaia overtook under yellow flag, which means he loses his podium position in favor of the Italian Romano Fenati, who now moves up to third, and the rest of the riders each move up one position. The 125GP category race would therefore end with the following top ten.
Top ten: Rins, Popov, Fenati, Granado, Guevara, Syunya, Carrasco, Ruiz, Antonelli, Mantovani.
Bagnaia’s statements:
Everything happened on the last lap. When I overtook to get into the podium zone, I didn’t know there was a yellow flag.
I only realized right afterwards, when I saw Márquez on the ground, but I was already third and it was far too late to do anything about it. I’m really sorry this happened. In the next race I will be more attentive, and I think everything will go better.
